Some bonus content for Puppy Week - I am telling you all about a client I have worked with this year. Check earlier in my feed for Part 1!
On the day of pick up, I again got to go with Helen. I had not been since that first visit, and was looking forward to helping to bring Esme home. Importantly (for me) I got to sit in the back of the car with her cozy next to me.
David, Margie and Emelia were happy to see Esme going knowing how loved and taken care of she would be, but so sad too, because she was already loved so much. They gave her a little blanket that smelt of mum to take home.
The journey was over an hour, but Esme did so well. Once home, we took her around the back of the house into the garden, as she would be in need of a wee. Ready to go into the house, Esme was to go in through the back door, with a little encouragement, on her own. Remember, this is brand new to this little girl. She's left her mum, Nana, siblings, safe humans. Can you imagine what it must be like? I know I'd find that more than a little bit anxiety inducing. But this little girl did it all on her own, and stepped into her brave new world...
Tune back in soon for part 3!
